a true passion for Public Relations
Jessica Lewis is the Principal Publicist & Owner of LáLew Public Relations. With more than 10 years of experience, her passion for PR began in college. While still an undergraduate student at Buffalo State College, Jessica served as an executive board member of an on-campus club dedicated to addressing pressing issues around social justice. She often found herself engaging in meaningful conversations with her peers and would promote club activities and special events. Years later, those experiences coupled with her professional experiences would come full circle with the launch of her own public relations company.
In addition to leading LáLew Public Relations, Jessica is the Communications Specialist for ROC the Future (RTF), a program of The Children’s Agenda. She manages RTF’s communications initiatives by developing and executing comprehensive, integrated communications for funders, conveners, networks, community based organizations, and neighborhood residents. Her career has also included communications management for the Urban-Suburban Transfer Program, the nation’s first and oldest school-based integration program; and Director of the Afterschool Academy at the Urban League of Rochester, where she managed five college access programs serving Rochester area youth.
Jessica holds membership in the Rochester Association of Black Journalists and the Democrat & Chronicle Young Professionals Advisory Council. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State College in Social Studies Education grades 7-12 and a Master’s degree in Teaching and Curriculum from the Margaret Warner Graduate School of Education at the University of Rochester. She also completed coursework in Communications & Media Arts.
She is the recipient of a number of community awards and served as a guest speaker at various community events. See her full list of accomplishments below.
