Church of God by Faith Hosts Handbags of Hope, a Community Purse Drive

A woman’s purse is an important part of her everyday wardrobe, but beyond a stylish accessory, a purse is where she keeps her wallet, keys and other personal items that are needed every day. On Saturday, March 17th the Greater Adams Street Church of God by Faith hosted a purse drive for women in need. Not only did women receive new and gently used purses, but each purse was be filled with much needed items such as soap, deodorant, shampoo and other personal care items. The purses were then distributed to women’s shelters and facilities in the Rochester area.  Event coordinator Telsa Jones-Linton said “The mission of the church is to serve the community. We’re going outside of the four walls of the church to provide women with much needed personal care items and a handbag they can call their own.”
