Greater Rochester Martin Luther King Jr. Commission

On April 4, 1968, the nation suffered a devastating loss. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, TN.  In 2023, the Greater Rochester Martin Luther King Jr. Commission set out to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the death of this civil rights icon. To help raise awareness of King’s legacy, the commission hired LáLew PR to reach audiences about the anniversary of King’s death and how his approach to civil rights could be used to improve society today.

We pitched local television and radio stations to book representatives from the Commision, plus U.S. Congressman Joe Morelle, Mayor Malik Evans, Action for a Better Community CEO Jerome Underwood and Rochester Monroe Anti-Poverty Initiative Director, Aqua Porter, for interviews.

We secured interviews on WROC News 8, WHEC News10, Fox Rochester and 104 WDKX, gaining our client over 3.5 million impressions.
